What is the difference between twitter.retweet.user.id and twitter.retweeted.user.id?

The documentations seems to say the same thing, which confounds me. So which one’s which?

twitter.retweet.* objects are references to the retweets.

twitter.retweeted.* objects are references to the original Tweet being retweeted.

And it would thus follow that for a retweet, the twitter.* objects such as user and place would be null?
