Upcoming changes to LinkedIn Engagement Insights :: Concepts

Since we released Concepts in March (see release notes here: https://community.datasift.com/t/release-notes-march-7th-2017/4653) we’ve been working on further improvements that we plan to release at the end of April.

##Re-organising types system
The diagram below shows how the types are modified. The change will introduce six (6) new types and retire five (5) existing types that are merged into other types. We will also spin off a new ‘Media’ type from the ‘Product’ category. This type will contain any media related concept names. For example, publications, newspapers and tv shows etc. The product category will remain with all other products bar the ones moved to ‘Media’.

Note that we will release the new types in a transition over 32 days meaning that during that period some concept names will have more than one type. It is possible that old concept types will appear in results beyond the 32 days period. Please only use the valid types shown below in your filters after the release period has lapsed.

These are the future types that you should refer to in general or whenever you see more than one type for a concept name.

##Retiring li.all.entities
As we announced last month the new concepts will replace the old entities. Specifically we will retire the target li.all.entities on 17th April 2017. After that time you will no longer be able to analyse or filter on this target.
