Polygon Search

#1

I am trying to collect Tweets from users Tweeting from Africa. To reduce the volume, I excluded South Africa. I used the Polygon Map and outlined the continent of Africa with set of coordinates. The results are not what I expected. I only see Tweets from the area near Morocco. Nothing in the area of East Africa or Central Africa. Are there limits to how big a polygon you can use in a stream? I am only querying on coordinates.

The coordinates below are what I used.

The only limit when using the geo_polygon is a maximum of 32 vertices. Please bear in mind that using Geo operators means you are only looking for Tweets which have been location tagged, not necessarily all Tweets sent from Africa. Perhaps consider also using targets such as twitter.user.location twitter.user.location to filter on the place a user says they are from.
