Media Strategies API - Introducing support for multiple country comparison audiences

#1

Today we released a new version of the Media Strategies API. This release introduces support for multiple countries and minor continents for comparison audiences.

Until now you have been able to specify one of the following comparison audiences for strategy tasks:

  • Global - using the string ‘global’ compares your audience to the global audience.
  • Single country - using the ‘country’ field you can specify a single country for the comparison audience.
  • Single minor continent - using the ‘minor_continent’ field you can specify a single minor continent for the comparison audience.

This release introduces support for multiple countries and multiple minor continents for comparison audiences, through the ‘countries’ and ‘minor_continents’ fields respectively.

For example, to use multiple countries for your comparison audience, you could post the following task:

{
    "subscription_id": "cd99abbc812f646c77bfd8ddf767a134f0b91e84",
 	"type": "strategy",
    "name": "example",
    "parameters": {
        "strategy": "top_urls",
        "version": 1,
        "parameters": {
            "keywords": {
	            "any": ["machine learning", "ml"]
            },
            "audience": {
	            "seniorities": ["cxo", "vp", "director", "owner"],
	            "countries": ["germany", "united kingdom"]
            }
            "comparison_audience": {
	             "countries": ["germany", "united kingdom"]
           }
       }
    }
}

This request would analyze top urls for the machine learning topic, for senior members in the UK and Germany, comparing the analyzed audience against all members in the UK and Germany.

Similarly, to use multiple minor continents for your comparison audience, you could post the following task:

{
    "subscription_id": "cd99abbc812f646c77bfd8ddf767a134f0b91e84",
    "type": "strategy",
    "name": "example",
    "parameters": {
        "strategy": "top_urls",
        "version": 1,
        "parameters": {
            "keywords": {
	            "any": ["machine learning", "ml"]

            "audience": {
