Is programmatic source activation or listing available?

#1

Here are two questions.

Is it possible to programmatically activate a source, such as Facebook, etc.?
Such as from within an application via the REST API, without manually going to http://datasift.com/source to activate?
Probably not, however I wanted to verify.

Is it possible to programmatically list active sources, such as Facebook, etc.?
Such as from within an application via the REST API, without manually going to http://datasift.com/source?
This would be nice to check the current account source configuration.

The https://api.datasift.com/usage doss not lists sources that are not used within the requested period, and there is no “all” period.

1)

No, this is not possible at the moment. You can only activate/deactivate data sources via the Data Sources page.

2)

Again, unfortunately not.

I will raise both of these questions as feature requests internally.

Thank you for the information, Jason.

Hi Jason,

After a long time, now it is possible to activate/deactivate data sources through API?

There is still no API endpoint available to do this. Right now we do not have explicit plans to support this, but it may be included in an upcoming feature this year.
As always, you can view all our supported API endpoints on our REST API Documentation page.
